Partner Nik Makarenko served as program chair for the 39th annual Insurance Law Institute Seminar sponsored by Tort and Insurance Practice Section of the State Bar of Georgia which is held annually at the King and Prince Hotel on St. Simons Island. This year’s conference occurred on October 13-15, 2023. Nik currently serves as chair of the Tort and Insurance Section through 2023. This year’s conference featured speakers on a variety of topics of interest to law professionals with a focus on insurance related litigation.
Managing Partner Joseph Kaiser served as one of this year’s featured speakers and presented the topic of “Strategy for Defending UM Cases.” His presentation focused on strategic decisions unique to defending UM.UIM cases as well as the state of UM bad faith in Georgia.
Groth, Makarenko, Kaiser & Eidex has a long history of supporting the Tort and Insurance Practice Section and participating in the Insurance Law Institute conference with Partners Jay Eidex and Paul Groth having also served as past chairs of the Tort & Insurance Practice Section of the State Bar and Chairs of the Insurance Law Institute conference.
