About Charles
Charles earned a Bachelor of Arts from Berea College in 2011. He then went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2023.
Charles joined Groth, Makarenko, Kaiser & Eidex in September of 2026 as an associate in the firm’s Nashville, Tennessee office. He is admitted to practice before all state courts in Tennessee and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association, Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, and DRI.
He served as a Hearing Officer for the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development prior to joining the firm. In this capacity, he held hearings on 40-45 cases each week, took testimony, and adjudicated appeals filed by employers and employees. Each adjudication involved statutory construction and application of due process principles to resolve adversarial proceedings.
Charles currently resides in his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee with his wife and their German Shepherd mix rescue puppy. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, traveling, watching Memphis basketball, and anything on the water (swimming, boating, kayaking, etc.).
