Donna O. Willis, Esq.

Donna grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and completed her undergraduate studies with a double major in philosophy and religion at Boston University and Emory University. Donna earned her juris doctor from Emory University School of Law in 1983.  

Donna began her legal career in Georgia’s Middle Judicial Circuit as an assistant district attorney prosecuting felonies. In 1986, Donna entered the private sector as an attorney with a respected insurance defense firm handling insurance coverage throughout the southeast with a concentration on arson and fraud. In 1991, Donna joined the new in-house litigation firm at one of the nation’s largest insurers. Donna managed teams handling coverage matters on all policy contracts and responding to discovery served on the insurer. Additionally, she actively participated in insurance industry organizations, such as the ABA; CLM; DRI; IASIU; and ICAC. While in-house, Donna litigated cases involving automobile accidents and premises liability.

Donna joined GMKE in December 2023 where her practice focuses on non-litigation matters and insurance coverage.

Donna and her husband, Dave Stevens, live in Inman Park with their two miniature dachshunds, Mason and Dixon. Dave has two daughters and Dave and Donna are new grandparents. They are avid Atlanta United fans; Dave having been a founding team member. Donna enjoys live theater and nonprofit board service. She is a facilitator with Georgia Justice Project’s restorative justice initiative and a patient volunteer with Hospice Atlanta.
